    NPHC of VCU Celebrates NPHC Week 2011

    The National Pan-Hellenic Council of VCU celebrated the 2011 NPHC Week in December with a series of events and activities.  The week started with a movie night followed by a study break event in Break Point Games Room.

    Kappa Alpha Psi Real Men Wear Pink

    The Eta Xi chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi partnered with the new VCU colony of Zeta Tau Alpha and the Phi Delta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi in a Real Men Wear Pink program held in the University Student Commons.  The intention of the program is to provide information to men on how breast cancer can affect men both personally and within their family.

    26th Annual Fall Block Step Show

    The 26th Annual Fall Block Step Show was another success for the oldest student tradition at Virginia Commonwealth University. Fall Block is a celebration of the historical importance of stepping to NPHC member organizations.

     

    "State of Emergency" was the theme of the show, and the chapters each engaged the theme in different manners. The show resulted in the following:

    Alpha Phi Alpha Wins Fraternity of the Year

    At the 2011 VCU Leadership and Service Awards, the Theta Rho chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha was named the Fraternity of the Year for 2010-2011.  The chapter received this honor due to the chapters completion of the Level I, Level II, and Level III expectations in the Shared Standards for Fraternities and Sororities at Virginia Commonwealth University.

    The National Pan-Hellenic Council of Virginia Commonwealth University was honored with the 2011 Robert Page Outstanding NPHC Award at the Association of Fraternal Leadership and Values Central Fraternal Leadership Conference.
